Apple Cider Vinegar – Natural Remedies

Why Apple Cider Vinegar?   Do you know that something in your kitchen cabinet can help improve your health? Apple cider vinegar, is a natural remedy, much uses because of its many healing properties.  I have been used as a remedy for many, common ailments, as well as weight loss. Ancient healers often spoke of the healing abilities of this poignant substance. It was offered to Jesus on a sponge when he was crucified.   In WWI, it was used to treat wounds and early Europeans used it as a deodorant.

So, as you can see, down through the ages, this seemingly insignificant liquid has many uses down through the ages. My mother used it as a rinse after washing our hair and added it to foods like cabbage and salads. Never did I realize that apple cider vinegar had abilities to heal.

For a Sore Throat

Everyone gets a sore throat from time to time. Instead of buying expensive sprays and lozenges; you can have a remedy right in your cupboard.  For a sore throat, slightly heat a half glass of alkaline water, until it is warm. Add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and gargle as needed. This should help smooth any irritation or discomfort.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Treating Skin Problems

Apply a solution of ACV and water to create a solution to treat skin. Use 2 tablespoons to 1 eight ounce glass of water. Apply to skin several times each day.

* For oily skin, soak a cotton ball with solution wipe skin to remove excess oil, then wash face as usual.

Acid Reflux

Many people suffer from occasional or even chronic acid reflux. The pharmaceutical companies have developed medication for acid reflux, but ACV is one of the best natural remedies, for heartburn.  It neutralizes stomach acids by changing the pH of stomach acids.  Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of vinegar to 8 ounces of water for acid reflux. If you find it difficult to drink the apple cider vinegar cocktail, it can also be added to salads used on salads as a dressing.

Leg Cramps

When you lack potassium, calcium or magnesium in your diet can result in foot and leg cramps. contribute to leg cramps.  Also if you take diuretics for hypertension or water retention this can also can deplete these minerals that cause muscle spasms.  Dilute a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a teaspoon of honey to a glass of warm water, to treat muscle cramp.

It is good for the heart, bone health and can also get rid of a charlie horse.  Most people should get the potassium they need in their daily diet, f they eat a sufficient amount of foods rich in potassium.

Because so many eat a diet of unhealthy processed foods, they do not get the necessary daily requirement of potassium. A few teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water with a little honey twice a day will add the necessary potassium you need.   Also, take a daily multivitamin/multimineral supplement.

Athletes Feet

To treat athlete’s feet, pour 2 cups of apple cider vinegar in a shallow foot pan of warm water and soak your feet. ACV has antibacterial and antiseptic properties that can help kill foot fungus. Do this twice a day until you see results.

Weight Loss

Though there is no scientific proof that apple cider vinegar will help you lose weight; many people claim, to have had good success with the product. Of course, a change of diet is required for any weight loss program.  It has proven to cleanse the body of toxins and when the body is toxic, it tends to hold onto pounds. So, try this powerful superfood if you want to shed unwanted pounds.

It also speeds up the metabolism. I used it more than 35 years ago as a tonic, mixed with honey and lost weight.  Add two tablespoons of ACV in eight glasses of water with a little honey and drink twice a day. To help increase metabolism and help supercharge weightless add cayenne pepper.

Hair Rinse

When I was was a little girl, my Mom used to rinse my hair with apple cider vinegar. It made my hair soft and got rid of any dulling residue from shampooing.  I don’t remember the measurements, but a few tablespoon of vinegar to a quart of water should do the trick.  Let the solution remain on the hair or a minute or two and rinse with warm water. It doesn’t smell that great, but it will certainly do the trick. It also is great for treating dandruff.
